How are you and how do you generally look back on the last month?

I am doing well, thanks for asking. Looking back on the last month I’d say it was not a busy month for me, as there were no classes. I was just busy with my research proposal. And I also received my first semester results.

What did a typical day at university look like and how did the scholarship help you cope better?

A typical day at the university is usually pretty packed with classes, studying and extracurricular activities. Having the scholarship has definitely made things easier by relieving some financial stress which has even led to better academic results for the previous semester.

What special experiences or events in Cape Town were you able to enjoy thanks to the scholarship?

Unfortunately, I have never been in Cape Town before as I am currently studying online since I stay far from Cape Town.

How has the scholarship influenced interactions and relationships with fellow students and faculty?

The scholarship has helped me connect with other students from different countries and provinces and also faculty members who share my interests and goals which has been an amazing experience and all thanks to Kulu-Manzi. If it wasn’t for you, I would’ve not gotten the opportunity to connect with my fellow students and faculty members.

Are there any cultural or local peculiarities in Cape Town that you particularly appreciate and that you were able to experience more intensively thanks to the scholarship?

There are peculiarities that I appreciate in Cape Town, but I have never experienced them as I have never been there. But I wish to experience them one day and they include the rich culinary scene, which is Cape Malay cuisine, Robben Island, table mountain and last but not least the Atlantis Dunes Quad bike tour.

What long-term goals do you have for your academic and professional future, and how does the scholarship support you on this path?

My long-term goal is to pursue a PhD degree in sports for development after completing my master’s degree. The scholarship has been a valuable support on this path by providing me with the financial means to pursue my master’s degree which I wouldn’t be able to do if it wasn’t for the Kulu-Manzi scholarship.
