What is the meaning of rugby and the springboks for RSA and how is football compared to it?

The Springboks are the hope of South Africa. They made our country shine. They painted our country with hope and inspiration. So now every South African has that hope that “Everything is going to be alright” because of the hope the Springboks gave us. Bafana Bafana (Football) hasn’t been doing well like Springboks are. They are doing their best, but their best is not good enough for the country. I just wish they could also be celebrated like the Springboks.

What does Christmas time  look like for you and how are you going to spend the holidays?

For me this time of the year is a very special time, because I’ll get to be with my entire family full time even though the time is limited. I am going home for the holidays. I love spending time with my family, especially my mother. I get to spend time with my family two or three times a year. Now that it is almost Christmas time I am very excited. I can not wait to go home, I miss my family and also I can’t wait to play, joke and prank my siblings.

What is happening at uni?

The University is done with the exam period now. As the University of the Western Cape, we were hosting the University Sport South Africa (USSA) games from the 4th to the 8th of December. The focus has been on that tournament for the last weeks and the only worry for students is the results that we are waiting for. Other students are going back to their homes to visit their families.

How is football? Training and games going well?

We are done with the league, we ended up in position two out of sixteen teams. It was a great but a busy season with my teammates, because we have school to focus on, football and also our personal lives… Now that we are done with the league, our focus is on the upcoming tournament (USSA). The training is going well and it is still the same.

Anything else you like to share?

So last Friday I went to book a learner’s license at the Traffic department and they said my test is going to be this week Tuesday. Tuesday I went to write the test and I passed it. About my academics, I received all my continuous assessments marks, which were pretty good. For now I am waiting for my final results and I am hoping for the best.

Also I want to thank you for choosing me to be the scholarship holder for this year. I am honored to be part of the Kulu Manzi family and I am so grateful to you for all your help. You have lightened my future so I THANK YOU.
