September 2021

What are you working on regarding your thesis at the moment?

I am still awaiting permission from the Western Cape Education Department, so I have not been able to progress to the next step yet.

Summer is coming to Cape Town – what does that mean for you and what are you looking forward to?

I am definitely looking forward to wearing less layers of clothing! And the fact that the sun rises earlier and sunsets are later, meaning that mentally it will feel like we can do more within the time that we have. And of course the fact that we can go to the beach!

Are you still in level 2 of lockdown and what did that change?

No, we are currently in lockdown level 1. Curfew is later and the amount of people that is allowed at venues (both indoors and outdoors) is higher.

What does a normal day look like for you at the moment?

I usually start work at 8am and that will continue until latest 4pm or 4:30pm. During that time, I would do Masters or work and then I will go to training till 6pm and then from there onwards get home and continue with whatever I couldn’t finish for the day.

Are you on the Expresso Morning Show regularly now and when is the next one?

I put that on hold, because it became too much for me to cope with. Hopefully when everything calms down, we will be able to continue.

Are you still living with your mum? Are you planning to move out after you finished your degree?

Yes, I am still staying with my mother. I will have to wait and see what the future holds. Right now I am not sure what will happen once I have my degree.
