Report September 2023
How is uni going, what are you currently busy with?
Everything is going well. I am trying to finish up with the assessments left. It’s almost time for exams now and people are busy preparing for the exams. Football wise, we are pushing hard at training with my team, because we want to win the title. If we win the league, we are going to play the big African tournament and that is our goal for this season.
South Africa is slowly getting out of hibernation, what’s your favorite season and why do you love it so much?
My favorite season is Spring. I love Spring, because everything is in bloom. It’s the time of year when nature starts to shake off the hold of winter. Trees, bushes and flowers all start to bud. Beauty abounds. Birds are chirping all around and hibernating animals are waking up from their slumbers. Wildlife abounds and is enjoyable to see. And also Spring lifts your attitude. When the sun is shining and the weather is warm, it is nearly impossible to be in a bad mood. I constantly have a smile on my face at the onset of spring. It is not a coincidence that the first day of spring is also the International Day of Happiness. All in all Spring is the season of happiness and good vibes. Lastly, I was born in Spring and that is the other reason I love this season so much.
Doing a midterm reflection, do you think you will achieve your goals this year?
I haven’t seen my midterm results yet, because they can only be posted at the end of the year. But I think I did well, because I have been working so hard and I got good marks in most of my last term assignments. And I am hoping for the best.
What is it like being a Kulu Manzi scholarship holder? What does it mean for you, how does it support you and what would you wish from Kulu Manzi for better support?
Being a Kulu Manzi scholarship holder is one of the best things that happened in my life. I have been struggling when it comes to paying school fees or tuition fees, because I can’t afford them, but this time around I am very blessed to be part of Kulu Manzi. I am so grateful that I have a Kulu Manzi scholarship and it means a lot to me. The scholarship plays a massive role in my studies and in my life and I will always be grateful. Also, being a Kulu Manzi scholarship holder motivates me to push even more hard and to always try to do better. It makes me feel special. Kulu Manzi is doing its best to support me and I am grateful for the support. I cannot wish for more, because it did the most for me.
